According to reports in the Sunday Mirror, Arsenal are tracking promising Young Boys playmaker Djibril Sow.
What’s the word, then?
Well, the Sunday Mirror say that the north London outfit have sent one of their top spies to go and watch the Swiss midfielder, who only joined Young Boys for £1.4m last summer following a spell in the Bundesliga with Borussia Monchengladbach.
The Sunday Mirror says that the 21-year-old is attracting interest from clubs all around Europe, and the Gunners are already keen with their recruitment plans not stopping even though they are yet to find Arsene Wenger’s successor when the Frenchman leaves at the end of the season.
The report adds that the man who found Cesc Fabregas and was instrumental in persuading Alexis Sanchez to move to the Emirates, Francis Cagigao, is the individual that has been watching developments with Sow closely.
How has Sow done this season?
He has impressed, and he scored a brilliant volley against Grasshoppers Zurich last month that would have grabbed the interest of potential suitors.
The 21-year-old has certainly been a regular for Young Boys after making 38 appearances in all competitions – scoring once and providing a further five assists – with the majority of his outings coming as a central midfielder, although he has also played in a defensive midfield role and a more attacking position through the middle.

Would he be a good signing for Arsenal?
It’s difficult to say.
While he has done well with Young Boys this season, it remains to be seen whether he yet has the quality to make the step up to an Arsenal side that will be determined to get back to a place where they are regularly competing for the Premier League title and are qualifying and impressing in the Champions League.
If Sven Mislintat feels that the 21-year-old has the potential to be a part of that and they have the chance to snap him up before others do they should, especially as he is potentially being recommended by the man who discovered Fabregas for the Gunners.
With Francis Coquelin already gone, the future of Jack Wilshere, who Gunners fans on Twitter are split on the future of, in doubt and an uncertainty over whether Santi Cazorla will ever play on a regular basis again, the north London may need more bodies in the middle of the park next season.
